David L. Lamp – President and Chief Executive Officer
Dave has served as the President and CEO of our general partner since March 2014. He has served as a director of our general partner since April 2014. Dave has 34 years of experience in the petroleum refining industry, including technical, operations, commercial and senior management endeavors. Dave previously served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for HollyFrontier Corporation and held a variety of senior management positions with Holly Corporation, including President. He was a key executive in the merger between Holly Corporation and Frontier Corporation and completed the integration of the two companies in 2011. He has many other accomplishments to his name. He completed the acquisitions of the Sunoco and Sinclair Tulsa refineries in 2009 and led the integration of the two plants. He also sold Montana Refining Company and assisted in the creation and IPO of Holly Energy Partners. He currently serves as Chairman of the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers Association, which is the industry trade for the refining and petrochemical industry.
Melissa M. Buhrig – Executive Vice President and General Counsel and Secretary
Melissa has served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of our general partner since March 2014. Melissa began her career representing refining, manufacturing and business clients while at several national firms, before joining Western Refining in 2005. While at Western Refining, Melissa served in various roles with responsibility for corporate governance, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation, as well as legal and regulatory matters relating to Western’s refining, logistics and retail operations. Most recently, Melissa served as Vice President – Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Western Refining and its publicly traded master limited partnership, Western Refining Logistics, LP. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law with honors, where she served on the University of Miami Law Review.
Karen Davis – Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Karen has served as Executive Vice President of our general partner since February 2015 and as Chief Financial Officer since March 2015. She served as Chief Financial Officer of Western Refining Logistics and Director of Investor Relations for Western Refining, Inc. from December 2014 to February 2015. Prior to joining Western, Karen served as the Chief Accounting Officer of PBF Energy Inc., an independent crude oil refiner from February 2011 to November 2014 and PBF Logistics LP, a master limited partnership, from its inception in February 2013 to November 2014. From October 2009 to December 2010, she served as the Global Controller of Petroplus Holdings AG, a publicly-traded independent refiner and wholesaler of petroleum products. During her career, Karen has served in various chief financial officer and financial reporting officer positions with public and private companies in the United States. She began her career with PwC where her last position was as a Certified Public Accountant and senior manager in their audit practice. Karen received a B.S. degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Chico.
Jason Akey – Vice President – Logistics
Jason has served as Vice President of Logistics of our general partner since April 2014. He has been with the St. Paul Park refinery since 2008 in several leadership positions, including Commercial Operations Manager and Technical Services Manager. Prior to joining Northern Tier Energy, Jason gained his experience through engineering roles with Marathon Petroleum, Flint Hills Resources, and LyondellBasell. Jason received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
Paul Anderson – Vice President – Investor Relations and Business Development
Paul has served as Vice President of Investor Relations & Business Development of our general partner since April 2014. Paul has 25 years of refining experience in process engineering, marketing, trading, and business planning. He has been with Northern Tier Energy as an Economics and Planning Engineer since 2011. Prior to joining Northern Tier, Paul has worked with Flint Hills Resources, Murphy Oil, and Conoco. He earned his BS in Chemical Engineer from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Rick Hastings – Vice President – St. Paul Park Refinery
Rick has served as Vice President, St. Paul Park Refinery of our general partner since April 2014 and as Plant Manager of the St. Paul Park Refinery since May 2012. Rick brings a diversified and extensive refining background to Northern Tier, with over 36 years in the petroleum refining and marketing industry. Prior to his tenure with Northern Tier, Rick worked for refining and petrochemical companies including Valero, Unocal and Fluor Engineering in various managerial and engineering roles. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Jack Helmick – Vice President – Retail
Jack has served as Vice President – Retail of our general partner since April 2014 and as President of our Super America and SuperMoms entities since March 2012. Jack has a distinguished career spanning over 30 years that includes senior positions at 7-Eleven, Coastal Corporation, and Thornton Oil. These positions included operations, marketing, and accounting. Jack has a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest State University in San Marcos Texas.
Brian Schlerf – Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
Brian has served as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of our general partner since April 2014. Brian has nearly 10 years’ experience working with the independent refining and convenience store industries. Before joining Northern Tier, Brian served as the Controller for Western Refining Logistics, LP and as the Controller for IO Data Centers, LLC. Brian began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte & Touche, LLP where his last position was a senior manager in their audit practice. While at Deloitte, Brian devoted a significant amount of his time to the independent refining industry, SEC reporting, and internal controls. Brian received his BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University and MBA from Arizona State University.
Scott Stevens – Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer
Scott has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of our general partner since April 2014. Scott has worked in various commercial and operational roles in the petroleum refining and marketing industry over the last twelve years. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of Southwest Marketing for Western Refining where he oversaw the Wholesale organization, Rail operations and Refined Products Marketing. Scott received a BSBA degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona.
